Week 373
ANOTHER VISIT TO THE ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS
Returning to a
place one has often photographed before and which
is known to offer many
excellent images is always both challenging
and a pleasure, because one knows what joys
the place holds, but at the same time there's the
challenge of finding new subjects, or at least
new ways of looking at previously captured views.
I was fortunate to get a sunny day after a
week of heavily overcast skies and showers. And, yes, my obsession with water
rages unabated!

1. A quiet corner of the ornamental lake.

2. Water in motion always appeals to me!

3. There are many vistas like this to surprise the visitor around every corner.

4. In the rainforest section a tree fern frond peeps out from behind a palm trunk.

5. Hard to imagine one is in a bustling city, isn't it?

6. "Hey, do you have to splash so much?"

7. A different take on the bench I seem to photograph on every visit.

8. The essence of tranquility.

9. Yes, I do like reflections!

10. "Making my own ripples...".

Guest Photo of The Week

This
week's Guest Photo introduces a photographer I have just recently
discovered - David Johns lives in Anchorage, Alaska and his
blog
is well worth visiting regularly. This view of the Fur Rondy
fireworks is typical of his excellent work.

Some e-mail responses ...
Number eight was perfect, absolutely nightmarish, werewolfish and vampirish, hehehe. I loved it! There's a poem that mentions "when I look at trees, I think of the skeletal forms and the volume of them." and I think this picture is perfect to illustrate it, or the poem to illustrate the picture, however, they complement each other. The parasols were beautiful too, as they seem to be falling through the rabbit's hole along with Alice, slowly and swaingly (is this well written?). The other plane bare tree was also nice, I guess I love naked trees because they invite me to protect and dress them, to prevent them from cold. The wet street was good, too. Ray, you always find things to show. The window, a bit intrusive I must say, one can see the lamps inside. But I DO love windows. Anyway, you beat the challenge once again.
