Week 452
ELIZABETH FARM - Part 2
This week we continue
our visit
to the homestead and garden of Elizabeth Farm in Parramatta.
Do have a look at my
partner's photographic blog
Elle's Photographic Adventures.
1. The flagstones on the front veranda are well worn already.
2.
The "drawing room closet" off the drawing room was Elizabeth's favourite
place for writing
letters.
3. The drawing room, looking out onto the eastern veranda. The room in image 2 is off to the left.
4. The eastern window of the room which served both as library and John Macarthur's bedroom.
5. Looking at the front door from the garden...
6. ... and the view from inside the front door.
7. This old olive tree is considered to be the oldest introduced tree in Australia and is one of the many planted by Macarthur.
8. A headless ghost in the gloom of the garden? No, merely a dead aloe!
9. A prickly pear with fruit.
10. Close-up of the business end of a cactus.
