Week 159
A Yarra Day
Not a breeze to disturb the reflections! Near the Walmer Street footbridge. |
It is hard to believe that one of the world's great cities lies just a few hundred metres away... |
It was quiet here, with just birdsong to fill the air. |
Looking downstream through the arch of the Johnston St bridge. |
Here, closer to the Collingwood Children's Farm, the river speeds up in the shallows. |
Just above Dights Falls (just visible on the right) I had to wait for the water to calm down after I'd startled some coots. |
The best way to explore the river? |
These geese were having an altercation at Studley Boathouse, where I stopped for a pot of tea and a blueberry muffin. |
Looking down from the
Yarra Boulevard. Studley Boathouse is under the trees on the right and
Kanes Footbridge spans |
The afternoon sun glows on the trees close to the Metropolitan Fire Brigade's Training College. |
