Week 159

A Yarra Day

Not a breeze to disturb the reflections! Near the Walmer Street footbridge.

It is hard to believe that one of the world's great cities lies just a few hundred metres away...

It was quiet here, with just birdsong to fill the air.

Looking downstream through the arch of the Johnston St bridge.

Here, closer to the Collingwood Children's Farm, the river speeds up in the shallows.

Just above Dights Falls (just visible on the right) I had to wait for the water to calm down after I'd startled some coots.

The best way to explore the river?

These geese were having an altercation at Studley Boathouse, where I stopped for a pot of tea and a blueberry muffin.

Looking down from the Yarra Boulevard. Studley Boathouse is under the trees on the right and Kanes Footbridge spans
the river in the distance.

The afternoon sun glows on the trees close to the Metropolitan Fire Brigade's Training College.
