MONTSALVAT -- PART I

1.  This building is typical of the architectural spirit of the place -- an eclectic mix of wattle-and-daub and half-timbering,
with the tin roof to place it firmly in Australia!

2. There was no coaxing this peacock off its perch above the bay window on the left in the previous photo.

3. The same building from the other side, with some of the resident artists having a protracted lunch in the warm spring sun
we were lucky enough to experience today.

4.  The Great Hall. The main entrance is on the right.

5. Inside the Great Hall.

6. Upstairs this marvellous window looks out onto the trees.

7. The swimming pool. The Great Hall is to the right, beyond the archway.

8. I simply found the lines and light here irresistible.

9. Words are superfluous here, surely?

10. A cherry tree in blossom; not only a herald of spring, but also a poignant personal reminder of my time in Japan.
