Week 174

A DAY ON THE WATER

1.  A few boats were out early, making the most of a fitful breeze.

2. "A bone in her mouth", as sailors say.

3. It is so typical of Melbourne that one could have such fun on the water and still be virtually in the city.

4.  Not much wind down at the southern end of the lake -- time for a chocolate
break, perhaps? Note the tallest building!

5. A family day out for Mom and Dad and the three cygnets.

6. The sweet lines on this little ten footer show that she sails well, as she does!
I had my first dinghy sail in more than ten years in her when I took her out soon
after we arrived at the lake (she is one of the WBA's club boats).

7. Water, buildings... and a boat; it all makes for great fun.

8. More fun in the sun.

9. Begonia is a Tom Whitfield-designed 14' clinker dinghy and a delight to sail. Note
the traditional gaff rig.

10. A dramatic sky over the city.
