Week 176

SPRING CITY

1.  A bright welcome to the Alexandra gardens.

2. The new Eureka Tower and the (much closer) Arts Spire dominate the skyline
in this view across the pond in the Alexandra Gardens.

3. Public fountains in Melbourne have been turned off because of the water restrictions, but this pond near the Sidney
Myer Music Bowl is still beautiful.

4.  In the Women's Garden the water still runs, probably because it is being cycled through the fountains.

5. A splash of colour in the Women's Garden.

6. Young leaves and blossoms on a stalchis bladdernut in the RBG.

7. The Royal Botanic Gardens were full of people enjoying the lovely spring weather, but I managed to catch this stretch of
path empty, to try and convey the sense of peace that permeates the place.

8. A splendid spot for a picnic.

9. An aloe flower glows against the dark foliage.

10. So there are at least two ways to have fun on the river, it seems, depending on how energetic you feel!
