PORT MELBOURNE

 

 

 
   

 

1.  As one gets off the light rail from the city, this is one's first sight of the Tasmanian
ferry Spirit of Tasmania II. Note the twin vehicle loading ramps on the left.

 
   

2. It's amazing how close to the shore the ferry's bows are!

 
   

3. The view from the northern side of Station Pier.

 
   

4.  Normally this would be an ideal spot from which to enjoy the beach and sea views while shaded, but today the stiff
breeze made it a somewhat chilly spot.

 
 

 

5. I don't like them, but jetskis make for dramatic photos.

 
 

 

6. Looking towards the landward of the two light towers that serve as leading marks to guide ships along the main channel
through Port Phillip Bay.

 
 

 

7. It doesn't look like it, but the seaward tower is actually some distance offshore.
