Week 249

A TALE OF TWO STATIONS

This Sunday I jumped on the Pakenham line train at Narre Warren station and got off at Malvern,
where I knew there were some interesting old buildings. The a longish walk back along the Princes
Highway took me to Caulfield station, where I ignored the horseracing track and rather poked around
the satellite campus of Monash University. So, back to the "normal" this week!

1. Malvern station, looking towards the city.

2. An oldie... near the station.

3. This old building has some really fascinating details on the facade.

4. A row of interesting old buildings on Glenferrie Road.

5. This house has a slightly spooky air about it... for some reason I immediately thought of Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird!

6. A detached semi-detached! I see this house every day on my way to work, and have been wanting to photograph it all along.
It seems the other half of the semi was demolished to make way for the huge car park of a liquor outlet. The result is amusing,
but not easy on the eye!

7. Glenville's building in Caulfield offers a great photo opportunity... and I managed not to get my reflection!

8. Lovely old buildings, a newish tram and great light!

9. This entranceway on the Monash University campus just wanted to be photographed.

10. Caulfield station -- a terrible photo, yes... but I somehow like it, too!
