Week 252

2008 MELBOURNE MOTOR SHOW


After skipping the show for two years, I decided it was time to go and have a look again. I
know not all of you are keen on cars, but I hope you will still be able to enjoy the images
in their own right. As always at an event like this where there are thousands of people
milling around, all wanting to look at or photograph the same car, it took quite a bit of
patience to get the shots!
Automotive design seems, on the whole, to be heading further into the Ugly Zone, but
fortunately there are still some car makers who know and appreciate good lines!

 

1. Half of the display area in the Melbourne Exhibition Hall.

2. A space-age concept from Toyota.

3. This is an Elfin MS8 Clubman.

4. Lexus in shades of blue.

5. These lines could only belong to a Ferrari!

6. The Bugatti Veyron has a distinctive presence.

7.  Maserati Formula 1 car from the 50s. The formula has come a long way since then!

8. ... as can be seen when one looks at the 2007 McLaren car.

9. A cutie from Skoda.

10. And Audi seems to have gone grill crazy with this design.
