Week 258

CITY SNIPPETS

This week's images have been selected from those taken recently, but which I did not use
at the time. We are still in the city, and still poking around in odd corners, or just observing
the people of this marvellous place.

1. Apartments on the north bank of the Yarra.

2. Queens Bridge, the Rialto Tower on the left.

3. Queens Bridge again, with the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the left and the highrises of  Southbank on the right.

4. This strange structure is actually the circulation tower for the Burnley Tunnel which takes
traffic from west to east under the river and part of the city .

5. Looks like spring, almost! Sun in the city

6. Our juggler from last week, but seen closer.

7.  A quiet Sunday morning chat on a deserted flight of steps.

8. On Burke Street.

9. Collins Street, and the Australia on Collins building. They don't like photographers in there...

10. There is always a crowd on the steps of the Flinders Street station, but this time they seem to be passing by! Note the sign
indicating that the tram stop is closed, as they are building a new superstop here, with a raised platform and improved shelters
and computerised touch-screen information terminals.
