Week 263

ON HOME TURF

The images this week were all made during a quick spin around Hampton Park,
where I live. The most photogenic part of the suburb is the wetlands, so there
are a few views of that, but I also made a stop at the main shopping area, where I
managed to find a bit of colour for you! I hope my friend António finds this week's
offering less "uninspired"!  It just goes to show that one can please all of the
people all of the time...

1. A pipe band leads a march of workers in last week's May Day parade.

2. The clouds were still hanging around after the previous day's rain.

3. A quiet, rush-fringed pond in the wetlands.

4. Two friends basking in the weak sun.

5. Looking west over the wetlands.

6. I managed to get a passable shot of this Purple Swamp hen just before two dogs scared
the bird off.

7.  Breezy and cool, yet the late afternoon sun makes the scene look warm.

8. The Gathering -- coots and Pacific Black Ducks.

9. A touch of colour in the otherwise rather drab shopping area.

10. Some colourful glass pieces in a novelty and gift shop's window.
