Week 277

A PARK AND A RIVER

The images this week were made on a walk through the Royal Botanical Garden in
Melbourne and then along the southern bank of the Yarra back to Flinders Street
Station.
While in the RBG I was caught in a rain shower... just the latest of the (mis)adventures
I have had in bringing these images to you -- including falling on my backside in the silt
on the bank of the Yarra and getting totally drenched in rain on Hanging Rock and in the
Dandenongs! But these things are all part of the fun of photography!

1. Eureka Tower dominates the skyline even from here, just outside the Royal Botanic
Garden.

2. The roof of the Sydney Myer Bowl against the backdrop of a dramatic sky.

3. A magnolia blossom.

4. A peaceful Sunday by the lakeside -- before the rain arrived.

5. And here it comes... gently at first, but soon a full-blown shower.

6. Some came prepared for the rain...

7.  It is not often that the Yarra is this calm

8. Looking upstream towards the Swan Street Bridge. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is off shot to the left.

9. A solitary sculler slips past, disturbing the mirror surface of the river.

10. Federation Square and a Nepal Festival.
