Week 281

A ZOO AFTERNOON

After discovering that there is a Japanese garden at the Melbourne Zoo, I headed there with
some anticipation, as it has been years since I last enjoyed a visit to a Japanese garden. It was,
however, somewhat of a disappointment - the garden is very small and lacking in a number of
the elements one would expect... Being there on the last Sunday of the school holidays also
did not help, because what should be a place of serenity, a quiet refuge which is conducive
to meditation and contemplation, was very much a picnic spot when I was there...
