Week 285

AN ALBERT PARK MORNING

Last week I found myself in Albert Park (where the Fosters Australian F1 Grand Prix
is run every year) very early in the morning. The early light was a photographer's
dream light, so I found all the images below, as well as about twenty more, without
having to walk more than a hundred metres in any one direction from where my car
was parked at the Carousel Restaurant.

1. Heavy cloud cover was starting to move in from over the Bay just before sunrise.

2. The city centre skyline lit up by the rising sun. The Rialto tower, 2nd from the left, used to be the tallest tower in the city, but
is now eclipsed by the Eureka Tower, far right. This is the view across the Albert Park Lake.

3. Early morning rowing practice with the city's eastern part on the horizon.

4. Coloured water.

5. To think this is only twenty minutes' walk from the city centre...

6. The glowing tree

.

7.  Learners...!

8. Shy Pacific black duck.

9. What better place or time for that morning jog?

10. A bright new day has started...
