Week 297

CARIBBEAN GARDENS

About 18 km due east of Melbourne's city centre, in the suburb of Scoresby, one finds the
open air entertainment and picnic area known as Caribbean Gardens. This week's photos
were taken during a brief visit there on Sunday afternoon.

1. A quiet  stretch of water...

2. ... until the lake cruise boat come chugging past.

3. Lotus flower.

4. Closer view of the area under a sprinkler fountain.

5. Passing through...

6. Nope, it's not real...! A leopard statue on the island in the lake.

7.  Late afternoon, so most of the picnickers have already left.

8. Also on the island - a mysteriously abandoned boat.

9. The cast-iron street lamps are reminiscent of a London street in days gone by.

10. Whereas this shaded seating arrangement has a 70s feel to it.
