Week 302

MONBULK

The town of Monbulk lies in the Dandenong Ranges some 40 km east of Melbourne CBD
as the crow flies. The population in 2006 was 2 715 and the town was originally best known
as the site of the Monbulk Preserving Company, producers of jam. The name is from the
aboriginal word which means "sanctuary". Click HERE for a Google interactive map .
