Week 313

CITY OF MISTS

Thursday morning last week and the whole of the greater Melbourne metropolitan area woke to a dense fog...
It was the second day in a row, but Wednesday's fog burned off very quickly, so when I reached the city  on Thursday
morning I was fortunate to find the fog still pretty heavy!

1.Looking upstream from the Princes bridge... the MCG barely visible in the fog.

2. Federation Square and the colours of autumn.

3. Morning practice on the Yarra - a coxless four streaking upstream.

4. The Ferris wheel in the Birrarrung Marr reserve.

5. Reflected in the quiet river are the footbridge and the Rialto Tower.

6. St Paul's spire beyond Flinders Street railway station...  a train has just pulled into
the station.

7.  The Eureka Tower's upper levels are veiled in the lifting fog.

8. Southgate Centre on the southern bank of the Yarra.

9. Figures in the fog... South Melbourne.

10. By 8.30 am the fog was still heavy on Coventry Street, South Melbourne.
