Week 338
BENDIGO SNAPSHOTS
This past
Sunday saw me taking the long road to Bendigo, the largest rural city north of
Melbourne.
Because of work on the railway line we had to take a road coach instead and on
the way there I was
convinced it was going to be a very wet outing indeed! However, my lucky angel
smiled on me and the
rain cleared soon after I arrived at Bendigo station. The images are more of the
informative kind this
week; I will revert to my other style next week!

1. WET! It was absolutely bucketing down en route to Bendigo. This is the view out my window of the road coach.

2. An
impromptu little lake in front of the Soldiers' Memorial shows how much
it rained. I was
fortunate in that it stopped raining a few minutes after my arrival.

3. Bridge in Rosalind Park.

4. The law Courts building as seen from the park.

5. Looking
down on the city from the look-out tower on top of Camp Hill: the
controversial new headquarters building for Bendigo
Bank dominates this view.

6. Bendigo Bank Building -- I enjoyed the play of lines, shapes and reflections.

7. The rear of the building. This could just as well be a scene in Melbourne!

8. A boy enjoying the water feature in Hargreaves Mall.

9. Queen Victoria stares out
over all, while behind her is the Soldiers' Memorial. The tower belongs
to the Law Courts Building,
which also houses the Visitors Information Centre.

10. Close-up of the Alexandra Fountain.
