Week 358

  RICHMOND

This week's images were made in the vicinity of Richmond, an inner eastern suburb of Melbourne.
From Richmond station I made my meandering way northward until I reached Victoria Parade, from
where I eventually took a tram to Southern Cross station to get back home. It was an overcast, coldish
day with rain threatening all the time... luckily there were some bright breaks, too!

1. Whenever I see such a stark, almost forbidding, exterior, I wonder what the house is like
inside..

2. It was a surprise to stumble across this little cottage which would seem more at home in a country village.

3. Gone are the days when builders went to so much trouble with archways of
modest city terrace houses...

4. Still clinging to glory days? The Prince Patrick is sorely in need of a facelift...

5. A copper door and a fractured photographer!

6. I spotted this old brick factory with its twin chimneys towering over its more
modern neighbours... and the light was wonderful!

7. A red door.

8. There's a statement about city society here, isn't there?

9.Waiting to cross...

 10. The crooked telephone pole (and the fire hydrant seems to lean in sympathy!).
