Week 360

  NORTH OF JELLS PARK

A walk from the northern corner of Jells Park along the Dandenong Creek Trail took me into the bush of
the Napier Park Reserve and up the hill. It's a round trip of around 8 km (5 miles) and well worth it for the
peace and quiet! If you're interested, you can see the Google map.

1. Just after leaving Jells Park I came across this fine mare in the meadow adjoining the path.

2. The view to the northeast across the meadow.

3. The path into the bush of the Napier Park Reserve.

4. It's all green among the trees after our recent rains.

5. What a joy to come across a stand of pines! I hadn't realised how much I missed
pine trees. This is near the top of the hill..

6. Coming out of the bush one is greeted by a lush green field.

7. I followed a different path back through the forest and came across this view of the
Dandenong Creek.

8. By the time I returned to the path along the meadow a herd of cattle had grazed their way closer to the fence. This young bullock
was very interested in me and the camera!

9. Just a puddle under the fence...

 10. A bit further along this sacred ibis kept a wary eye on me as I approached quietly. It allowed me one shot and then took off with
a cry that sounded pretty close to a human curse!
